Lookout Minas Tirith sur Mer

The fortress was situated on seven terraces, each of which was attached to the side of a mountain, and each had a wall with a gate. The gate of the second ring of walls were shifted to the south, the third – to the north, and so to the very top, so the road was paved in zigzags. Upstairs, on the rock was flat platform with a parapet of stone: from this nest defenders could watch the gates, lying 700 feet below.
